Keep useful clothing fitting as intended

Adjust the fit of clothes worth keeping
Clothing that is too long, loose or awkward in one area may still have plenty of wear left in it. We can arrange clothing alterations through a third-party tailor, using our Enfield premises as the handover and collection point. Common enquiries include shortening hems, changing trouser or sleeve length, adjusting waistlines and refining the general fit. Bring the garment in and explain the change you want rather than relying only on a written note. The fabric, seams, lining and existing construction must be considered before the alteration route can be confirmed.
A clear brief helps the tailor assess fit
Alteration work depends on how the garment is made and how much material is available in the relevant area. Show us where the fit feels wrong and provide any useful measurements or fitting details. Please empty pockets and make sure the item is in a suitable condition for assessment. We record the request and arrange the third-party work, but the tailor's assessment determines what is practical. Once the arranged alteration is complete, you collect the garment from us. If it also needs cleaning or pressing, discuss this at handover so the tasks can be routed in a sensible order.

Frequently asked questions
What alterations can we ask about?
You can ask about shortening hems, adjusting waistlines, changing sleeve or trouser lengths and improving general fit. The garment must be assessed because its fabric and construction affect what can be done.
Are alterations completed at the laundrette?
No. We arrange the work through a third-party provider and act as the handover and collection point. We record the requested change, while the tailor assesses whether it is practical.
What should we bring with the garment?
Bring clear details of the fit change, plus any useful measurements or footwear relevant to the intended length. Make sure pockets are empty and point out damage or cleaning needs at handover.
